What makes a flat rate fee so much better?
Hourly, weight-based and distance-based fees inherently come with uncertainty with traffic, weather, unforeseen setbacks and underestimated calculations.
With a flat-rate fee, you know what you are going in to on the day of your move and how much it is going to cost. There are no surprises or additional fees, and the unexpected is expected and accounted for.
Moving is expensive. We’ve got competitive prices that won’t change on the day of your move, and also a neighborly collection of included services that will make you feel oh-so-well taken care of.
A long-distance move flat rate is still guaranteed.
A long-distance flat rate fee is much the same as a local flat rate, you can just expect the mileage to make up more of your overall cost.
Again, we calculate this ahead of time, so surprises on the road will not leave you digging for change at the end of the day. Go ahead, order that pizza.

Dangers of Hourly Fee moving service
- Doesn’t consider your fully itemized inventory list.
- Guesses how much you move is and tells you if they can do the job.
- May not bring enough equipment and movers to complete your job as they did not itemize inventory.
- You can pay for however long it takes for them to move you, they may stretch out your move.
- Given the price isn’t guaranteed many times if a lot of materials are required for your move they can pass these costs on to you.
- Will pass on any travel expenses, such as tickets and tolls.
- Easily impacted by unexpected issues such as traffic.
Dangers of a Weight Fee moving service
Some moving companies charge by how much your move weighs, this applies to long distance moves.
- Will give you an initial price that includes tolls, mileage etc. then once the truck is loaded will confirm the weight and charge you accordingly on weight. Which is a BIG element of surprise, and as you have already committed to them you can’t change at the last minute.
- Unexpected increase in cost because rarely do you know how much your items will collectively weigh.
