Hourly rates cause unwanted surprises. So at Artunyc Movers we only calculate quotes in our guaranteed flat rate system. You don’t want your price affected by traffic delays or weight, which are ways unseemly movers gouge you.

We always consider how many flights of stairs in your flat rate quote. We charge $35-$50 per stair flight per 300 cubic feet for any additional flights of stairs.

No! New York State does not tax movers; however, packing supplies are taxed.

For over 90 percent of our moves, there is no change to our quote. Additionally, we provide 5 percent leeway to your inventory list, so if you have a few extra boxes, we’ll cover it. Confirm it on our social media reviews.

Cash and cards via our online system are acceptable. Credit cards are accepted and include a vendor service charge of 4%.

A $50 deposit online is required to reserve a moving crew. This is folded into your quote. Please pay the balance remaining at least one business day prior to your move date.

In order to get a full refund of your deposit, you must request cancellation via email at least one business day prior to your move day. Please allow Artunyc Movers five business days to process your refund. For moving dates scheduled on weekends, you must request a refund by the close of business on Thursday.

If you fail to cancel with at least one business days’ notice, your deposit will not be refunded.

Protection:

Your possessions are covered at $.60 per pound with free Basic coverage. You can purchase additional coverage through a secondary insurance company, which will allow you to consider different deductibles and levels of liability. insurance.com is our favorite company.

All upholstered furniture is covered in plastic and moving blankets.

All furniture, including dressers, should be empty when we arrive, so that we can guarantee the safety of your items. However, for an upgrade, we’ll take care of that ourselves.

Sadly, we cannot. We accept no liability if you pack these items and our crews will not move them. Please keep them separate and store them in a safe place during the move.

No. Agricultural regulations forbid us from doing so. However, if you pack a plant in large commercial-grade bin, we will move it but take no responsibility for damage to the plant.

In New York, parking tickets happen. We mostly avoid them, but when there is no legal parking spot near your building, we’ll park wherever is closest to your building. We can help avoid this by having a member of your household wait with the truck. If we are ticketed, we’ll split the fine with you. However, if you live in front of a bus stop or bike lane or live in certain high traffic areas of the city such as Midtown, you’re responsible for the entire ticket.**‬

Our moving crew will come arrive with your inventory list, contract, and all other specs. Our foremen will then walk through with you and firm up the plan, including any additional items.

Yes! We provide a one-time set up to put your furniture where you want it in your new home.

Rarely. On a regular job they won’t take lunch or breaks. If your move goes 6+hours, your foreman will let you know if a break is needed. This will have no effect on price.

Food and drink are allowed for local moves, though make sure it’s securely packed and left for last.

For long distance moves (and storage), no food or drink is allowed.

We move throughout NYC and the tri-state area.

Yes! We offer same-day service up and down the east coast and have regular routes to Boston, DC, and Philly.

  • After the move is finished, expect a call from customer service.

Yes! You or someone else should be there for when the foreman arrives so you can make sure all of the details are set.

For Consolidated moves, one of our local crews would pack and pick up your belongings and then “consolidate” it in a 53’ truck for long distance moving. It would be delivered by the carrier within a specified window (1-10 business days for a southeastern state; 1-14 business days for other long-distance moves.)

For “straight delivery,” your belongings would be delivered by the same truck we used to pick up your original items. The delivery window is usually 1-2 days.

We try to ensure this never happens.

However, if delays occur—either from traffic or construction—and we deliver beyond the window, we’ll have our customer service team contact you to work out a reasonable solution.
